SPRING BAKERS FORUM

We're looking forward to seeing everyone at our Spring Bakers Forum at Waukesha County Technical College in Waukesha, WI hosted by the baking and pastry arts students and instructors on Monday, April 23rd!  

Parking & Directions:  We will meet at 9:00 AM in the Classic Room which is room A-161. Park outside the A Building, which is the northernmost building on campus. Enter on the lower level, then go upstairs and follow signs to the Classic Room. Coffee, water, and some coffeecake will be provided!

What is a Bakers Forum?

A bakers forum is a place for WBA Members to meet and chat about what’s happening in the baking industry.  Some of the best conversations happen right at bakers forums!

Ever wonder how to create one of those fancy mirror glaze cakes?  WCTC - Waukesha County Technical College baking instructors will demonstrate this technique to WBA Members at our Spring Bakers Forum!  Chef Rachel and Chef Michelle from WCTC have several assorted cakes, pastries, glazes and covering techniques that they will be demoing on Monday followed by a group discussion on online ordering and delivery, food trucks, and pop-up food experiences. 

WBA Members are invited to enjoy a great day of learning and sharing! 

SCHEDULE:

9:00 am – Check-in / Introductions
9:15 am – Tour of WCTC 
9:45 am – Session One - Baking / Pastry Arts Demo: Mirror Glaze Cakes
10:15 am – Session Two - Group Discussion: Online ordering and delivery, food trucks, and pop-up food experiences
10:45 am – Session Three
Partner Presentation – Our allied members will have an opportunity to share what’s trending in the industry!  Don Hando from Valley Cooperative Association will present updates on the following topics: 

- PHO Changes
- Labeling
- Commodity Updates: Egg, Flour, Sugar, Shortening, Etc.
- New trends

11:15 am – Wrap up at WCTC and head off to bakery tours
11:30 am – Bakery Tours in Waukesha/Pewaukee area:
