Background: The Wisconsin Bakers Association (WBA) originally established the Robert W. Hiller Scholarship to honor Robert (Bob) and Sandy Hiller’s lifelong commitment to the Retail Baking Industry. The program intends to provide a financial resource for the education of students who will be the future of the Baking Industry. The scholarship was first awarded during the 100-year celebration of the Wisconsin Bakers Association on September 18th, 2005.
Bob was born in 1930 and raised in Janesville, WI. Alongside his wife, Sandy, the couple successfully owned and operated three bakeries and were in business for over 75 years! Bob made substantial contributions to the baking industry within the State of Wisconsin. His impressive career accomplishments include having served as the President of the Retail Bakers of America, President of Valley Bakers Association in Appleton, and as President of the Wisconsin Bakers Association. In addition to his commitment to community involvement, Bob also led presentations and attended trade shows all over the globe. Bob will be remembered most by his smile, cheerful nature, and sense of humor. It is our distinct privilege to honor the life and legacy of Bob and Sandy Hiller through the establishment of this scholarship.
