    Baking Services Manager – Disability Vocational Program

    Eisenhower Center, a vocational training program for adults with disabilities, seeks a highly skilled, professional baking services manager to oversee our growing in-house dog treat bakery.

    To be successful in this position, you bring a number of important skills: Kitchen management; customer service, inventory and supply chain management, strong familiarity with Amazon shipping protocols, desire to work with people with disabilities, and the drive to build something incredible and amazing.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads, coaches, and reinforces Eisenhower Center culture and performance
    • Oversees training of clients with disabilities to work in the bakery
    • Writes and conducts performance/goal review for clients
    • Finds creative solutions to production bottlenecks; takes action to find opportunities for efficiencies
    • Maintains appropriate inventory levels and ensures accurate pricing on products received and sold
    • Communicates and works cooperatively with EC bakery staff, department managers and client bakers to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations
    • Provides excellent customer service to retail, wholesale and private label customers
    • Tracks and fulfills orders
    • Develops assistant bakers to prepare for advancement opportunities
    • Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed
    • Required to maintain food safety logs and verification and compliance of department food safety logs
    • Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100%
    • Knowledge of organic certification requirements, food safety laws and regulations
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.     • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Five to seven years grocery or bakery experience preferred with two years in a key leadership position
    • Thorough knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations
    • Effective merchandising skills
    • Ability to make timely and effective decisions
    • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with adults with disabilities
    • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse team in a stressful environment
    • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
    • WI Certified Food Manager License preferred
    • Understanding or Amazon shipping protocols
